Meet Amy Larocca, MA, CCC-SLP
Owner, Polaris Speech
Hello! I'm a medical speech-language pathologist, educator, and advocate. I'm passionate about helping people maintain or regain their speech, language, cognitive, and swallow skills to live their best life possible. I strive to support my patients and their families throughout their journey with neurological disease, like Polaris, the North Star, guiding those navigating the ocean. When I'm not working with my patients or training the next generation of SLPs, I love spending time outside with my active family. Please use the contact form below to connect with me.
Speech-Language Pathologist
Amy Larocca, M.A., CCC-SLP, is the founder and lead speech-language pathologist of Polaris Speech and Neurological Rehabilitation, LLC. She brings over 20 years of experience evaluating and treating adults with a wide range of neurological disorders and has dedicated the past 10 years of her clinical, educational, and advocacy work to supporting the Parkinson’s community.
In addition to her clinical practice, Amy has served as a university faculty member, where she taught future clinicians and directed specialized clinic programming for individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease. She is deeply committed to education at all levels and is a frequent invited speaker for Parkinson’s Foundation programs, regional symposia, and community events. Her work includes collaborating on the development of educational resources focused on speech, swallowing, and cognition in Parkinson’s Disease, as well as moderating national care partner events.
Amy’s areas of clinical specialization include swallowing and swallowing disorders (dysphagia), neurological motor speech disorders, orofacial myofunctional disorders, and cognitive-communication disorders. She is trained in SPEAK OUT!®, Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT LOUD®), the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program, and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, allowing her to deliver highly skilled, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs.
A lifelong learner, Amy places a strong value on continuing education and remains committed to staying current with best practices in neurological rehabilitation. She has completed the Parkinson’s Foundation Team Training, reflecting her dedication to comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and whole-person care.
Beyond her clinical and educational roles, Amy is actively involved in the Parkinson’s community. She serves on the Board of the Ohio Parkinson’s Foundation Northeast Region, is a coach at InMotion, and is a leader with Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day Cleveland, where she has served as Planning Committee Chair. Her professional goal is to foster a strong, collaborative network of support for individuals living with neurological disease and their care partners throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond.

Advocate
I have walked this path as a healthcare provider and as a family member of someone navigating illness and rehabilitation. I understand how integral communication, education, resources, and support are throughout this journey. Because of those experiences, I focus on what is important to you. Together, we will develop goals and a plan of care that is appropriate for you. I will connect you to resources that will provide you with the information you need throughout your journey with Parkinson’s or other neurological diseases.
