Hello!  I'm a medical speech-language pathologist, educator, and advocate.  I'm passionate about helping people maintain or regain their speech, language, cognitive, and swallow skills to live their best life possible.  I strive to support my patients and their families throughout their journey with neurological disease, like Polaris, the North Star, guiding those navigating the ocean.  When I'm not working with my patients or training the next generation of SLPs, I love spending time outside with my active family.  Please use the contact form below to connect with me.

Speech-Language Pathologist

I have15 years of experience in clinical practice with the evaluation and treatment of adults with various neurological disorders. I have spent the last 5 years teaching at a local University and running the University Clinic programming for people with Parkinson’s Disease.  My specialty is swallowing and swallowing disorders, neurological motor speech, and cognitive-communication disorders.  I am trained in SPEAK OUT!®, Lee Silverman Voice Therapy, and McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program.  I am a life-long learner and value continuing education.  I hold a Parkinson Foundation Team Training certification, ensuring that I am utilizing the latest evidence-based practices to provide a holistic approach to patient care. I aim to build a strong multi-disciplinary community of support in Northeast Ohio for people with Neurological Disease.

Educator

I have presented at conferences, symposiums, and support groups on topics related to Parkinson's Disease, treatment and support, ethics, and advocacy.  I continue to educate fellow professionals through creation of my online course with SpeechTherapypd.com as well as a podcast discussion.  I believe it is our responsibility to educate our community about the available resources and services to help everyone live their best quality of life. I have collaborated with the Parkinson's Foundation to develop their Speech and Swallowing Fact Sheet.  If you would like to collaborate professionally or would like to discuss an opportunity for a presentation, please use the "Contact" form below to reach out.

Advocate

I have walked this path as a healthcare provider and as a family member of someone navigating illness and rehabilitation.  I understand how integral communication, education, resources, and support are throughout this journey.  Because of those experiences, I focus on what is important to you.  Together, we will develop goals and a plan of care that is appropriate for you. I will connect you to resources that will provide you with the information you need throughout your journey with Parkinson’s or other neurological diseases.
